Hibiscus is the classic flower for aloha shirts, car stickers and souvenirs. They’re growing everywhere. Hawaii had many species of native Hibiscus, some these have been hybridized into the varieties now being grown. They grow and bloom year round in zones 9-10 but will not survive frost or heavy freeze outside without protection. Inside they will need a bright window and a rich but fast draining soil.
